Paint Removal and Surface Rust Preparation

Use these clean and strip discs for metal restoration, maintenance and preparation before refinishing. The open-web working face contacts the coating while the fiberglass backing supports the wheel. This is a surface-preparation accessory, not a cutting disc or a substitute for removing substantial metal.

Apply light pressure and keep the disc moving. Test a small area first because abrasive stripping can change the surface finish. After removing the coating, clean and inspect the workpiece before the next sanding, priming or coating step.

Check Mounting Before Use

Confirm 4-1/2-inch wheel capacity, a compatible 7/8-inch arbor mounting system, the correct guard and flanges, and locknut and wrench clearance. The grinder must not exceed the disc rating of 11,500 RPM. The arbor is a through hole, not a screw thread; these discs do not mount directly to a drill.

Disconnect power before installation. Follow the grinder manual and use appropriate protective equipment. Do not force the disc into sharp edges or use a damaged wheel.

Will this fit every 4.5-inch angle grinder?

No. Diameter alone does not confirm fit. Check the 7/8-inch arbor mounting system, guard, flanges, locknut clearance and machine speed before installation.

Are these cutting or grinding wheels?

They are stripping discs for paint, surface rust and oxidation removal. Use an accessory intended for cutting or heavy stock removal when that is the task.

Can a stripping disc change the metal finish?

Yes. Abrasive contact can mark or alter a surface. Test a small area and use light pressure; do not assume a damage-free result.

Are the purple and blue discs different grits?

Both colors in this pack are Extra Coarse. Color does not represent a separate grit rating in this product.

Is a grinder or backing holder included?

No. The pack contains stripping discs only. Use the correct grinder mounting components specified by the tool manufacturer.
